Routes

Routes represent the vending service routes that Accounts and Assets (vending equipment) are allocated to. An individual Asset can only belong to one Route at any one time.

Each Route must belong to a specific Warehouse. Inventory flowing into the Route to service the Assets can only come from that Warehouse.

The following fields are used to define Routes:

Active

Routes no longer in use can be inactivated and will not appear in any selection lists.

Description

The text used to describe the Route. It can be a Route number, or the name of the general area the route services.

Driver

The name of the Route Driver who operates this Route

email

The email address of the person who receives any automated alerts with respect to this Route. Note that email addresses can also be converted into SMS Text messages and sent to a cell phone. There can be more than one email address specified - separate them with a ";" in the email field.

Change Fund

This is the standard Changer Fund that may be held by the Route Driver. It is used in the Cash Holding Report to report total cash held by the company

Inventory Type

Select from Product SKU or Product Group. The inventory held by the Route in the Route Truck can be maintained at a SKU or Group level. All Route transactions will reference this definition to control the product definition level of transaction quantities and inventory balance levels in the Route truck.

Consult with VendSys Support to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each method.

VendSys Mobile

Pin

This is the login PIN code for the Driver to log into the handhelds. Rather than defining alphanumeric passwords and typing in user names which is difficult to do on a numeric specific handheld, the access control is by way of numeric PIN code

Bag Prefix

All Cash Bags used in the Route servicing must be pre-numbered and identified uniquely.  Each Route will have a 3 digit number used as a prefix for their Bag identification.

Bag Count

This is the count of the number of Bags allocated to the Route.

Example

A Route may be described as "Route 16". The Cash Bag prefix would therefor be "016". If there are 60 bags defined in the bag Count, then the available Cash bags that can be selected from by the Driver are bags:

016-01

016-02

016-03

... up to

016-60

Refer to the Cash Processing process for further information.
