Model Categories

Each Asset Model must belong to a Model Category. This is used to group like Models together eg "Snack" or "Can Soda". This Model Category is used to:

• summarize data in some Reports
• control what Products are made available in Plannogram product selection in the Model Product Group form
• set desired Cash Collection targets in the Route Planner analysis

The fields used to define Model Categories are:

Active

Model Categories that are no longer references can be inactivated and will no longer appear in selection lists.

Description

The name of the Model Category. It must be unique in the list of Model Categories.

Target Value

This is the targeted Cash Collection value used in the Route Planner analysis. It is used to calculate the Proposed Schedule for an Asset. Based on current actual sales that a particular Asset is reaching, and what the Target Value (cash collected per visit) is set to in its Model Category, the Route Planner will determine how many visits per week (or weeks between visits) should be made to service this Asset to the desired parameters.
